“Blissful Charter Experience”
5 of 5 stars
"My wife and I chartered Sea Witch and crew for four nights in the US and BVI's to celebrate my 60th birthday. We visited Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke and a couple of remote spots on St. John. Captain John is an extremely capable, knowledgable and experienced sailor. Susan kept the boat in shipshape and served up one delicious meal after the next. They were both very gracious, welcoming hosts and very generous with providing information about Sea Witch, sailing and all the areas we visited. They were very accommodating to our desires with respect to activities and schedule. Sea Witch is a beautiful vessel - heavy, seaworthy, comfortable, well equipped and adorned with teak woodwork throughout for a classic feel. Any concerns that I had about spending days aboard a boat with a couple I had never met fell away instantly upon meeting Susan & John. We quickly felt like old friends, laughing, sharing stories and meals and giving each other all the space we needed when we wanted quiet time, all without the slightest awkwardness. I would not hesitate to recommend the Sea Witch for a charter in the Virgin Islands during the winter or in it's summer home at Martha's Vineyard. We look forward to sailing on her again!" "I had the good fortune to be aboard Sea Witch for a two week charter in the US and British Virgin Islands. During that time, I enjoyed the very special hospitality extended by Susan and Captain John. To charter Sea Witch is to treat yourself to a fabulous sailing experience. One of my main concerns when chartering is that the Captain be qualified, experienced and safety conscious – and John was all three. In addition, he worked tirelessly to provide the best possible experience for everyone aboard. Our safety and comfort were always his primary concerns. John and Susan know the US and British Virgin Islands very well and tailor the experience to the interests and preferences of their guests. We were involved in planning sailing, shore and water activities based upon the daily weather and sea conditions. They know the best anchorages, snorkelling spots, beaches, bars, resorts, restaurants, shopping opportunities and shore activities available in the area. Want to spend a night in a remote area where Sea Witch may be the only boat? They can find it. If dinner in a fine restaurant seems like a good idea – no problem. If a lively bar scene appeals – they’ll take you there. Both are avid snorkelers and I appreciated their ability to spot fish, turtles, rays and even sharks. John is a professional photographer and his tips on underwater photography really helped. Susan’s meals were outstanding. Her culinary experience and expertise was evident in the healthy, delicious and beautifully presented food that she served. I have raved about her meals to all of my friends – and they know how high my standards are. Count on dieting when you get home, because the food is irresistible." Visited December 2015. By Susan P.

"We had a fun, relaxing week aboard Sea Witch under the excellent care of Capt. John and First Mate Susan! Their extensive experience and knowledge of the area made us feel completely safe, the sailing was awesome and, as a sailor himself, my husband appreciated being allowed to man the helm. They took us to wonderful snorkeling sights, beautiful beaches and a great Full Moon party! Susan's meals were delicious and beautifully presented, with close attention to our preferences. They were great companions and great hosts." Visited February 2015. By Cindy S.
